Yes, I was listening to everyone's favorite poet. Don't worry, she wasn't telling a story. I actually bought her CDs on iTunes about a year ago and one of the songs came up in the Shuffle. It was really melancholy, I forgot which one it was though, lol. So yesterday my parents got me and my brother bank accounts, which is great, however they forgot to ask for a Debit Card, which was the reason I wanted to get the account in the first place. I currently only have $5 on the account, the minimum, and the (red)tarted ATM card. I don't get ATM cards. In theory it's a good idea, but I feel it's just easier to have cash or just use a debit card. I dunno, maybe when I have money or a job I'll understand the ATMs. Actually Donut's having a party today and I have to take her the balloon at 5. That means I finnah get $30! YAY! So next time we go to the bank I'll deposit that, get the debit card and get me a Distorted View Sideshow Membership. I also want to donate, or try and donate, to some of the podcast people I'm thankful for. I know that sounds kinda corny and stuff, but I really look up to certain podcasters, or I relate to them. I especially relate to Andy Melton at times because I feel we're kind of in the same situation. I don't know if that's true or not, but I really feel for Andy. I'd actually like to be friends with the Andy Melton cuz he seems like a really nice person. I dunno, wutever. Oooh, if I get the Debits Card, I'll be able to shop on the Amazons, YAY! There's some useless stuff I've been meaning to get, like certain books. Actually most of the books on my Amazon wishlist are gay oriented. I feel like gay literature is really neglected, as well as gay history and gay culture. We exist and many of us are contributing members of society, yet we are completely ignored and neglected, how sad. Now that I'm on the topic I'd like to sort of respond to Ragan Fox's question about gay schools. I'm not sure he'll get this, but at least someone'll read it. My opinion of gay schools is neutral. Yes, it is good to have a hate free environment, but what really matters is the material they are teaching. If you go to a gay school and you are taught the exact same thing as you would be taught in another school, it doesn't really matter. The main things gay schools should touch on are Gay History and Gay Culture. I've heard some podcasters mention that most gay youths do not know about the Stonewall Riots, they don't know who Larry Kramer is or are not aware of key gay people among us. A lot of this information is available, but we are not told about it by the mainstream. In History class we learn straight white man history. We are told America was "discovered" by Christopher Colombus, we are told Martin Luther King fought for equality for blacks, we are told Abraham Lincoln "freed" the slaves. The history we are taught is a lie. It is manipulated to make the people in charge look like the good guys. In actuality America is the country it is today due to the genocide and oppression of the Real Americans, the Native Americans. In actuality Martin Luther King fought for equality for POOR people, not just blacks, he wanted to end the tyranny of the rich white man, which to this day is still in effect. In actuality Abraham Lincoln freed slaves in Northern territory. And because of Jim Crowe Laws and other racist bullshit the slaves were left homeless and without work. I'm not saying that slavery was good or that it should still be going on today, but we have been manipulated and indoctrinated since we were 5. By the time we learn these truths, it's too late. Because it is harder to accept true history because all your life you were fed lies. Can you imagine what the Iraq War is going to look like in 100 years? Or will it be ignored or brushed off like Vietnam? I have said this before, but when people say, "The children are our future." I get scared as hell because our children are idiots who can't think for themselves. As Madge has said, "We are no longer people, we are consumers." We are now controlled by the media, our heads are constantly being turned from true events. This war is the result of ignorance from both the people and their leaders. While our tax dollars are being used to kill people, we are looking at Lindsay Lohan, we are watching Britney Spears, as I said last year, Anna Nicole's death got more mainstream coverage than the war. What are our priorities as a nation? As I have learned these past two years, the only way to get real news in its purest form is to listen to podcasts. Listen to Democracy Now, probably The Most Important Podcast out there. Watch Micheal Moore's movies, become involved in your government. I know this is going to sound stupid, but did you know that here in El Paso, the mayor wants to add more restrictions to strip clubs. I know that story really isn't worth mentioning, but according to the news, this is going to cost the city a lot of money. Once again, what are our priorities. We can barely afford to renovate Downtown, but we're going to try and further oppress the STRIP CLUBS! Where are our minds, where are our hearts? I am thankful to be able to live along with these great people who continue to work hard to get out the True news, the people who fight for what they believe in, who fully use their freedom of speech. I'm thankful for Richard Bluestein, Amy Goodman, Bicycle Mark, Zillafag, Twinkleboi, Ragan Fox, Wanda Wisdom, all of these people each have their own gift. They all speak out, they're all out there trying to find the news that matters or express themselves giving the internet some variety and heart. In this generation, it may be the podcasters and independent media that get us out of the hole that America is in. I feel America is now in its teenage years and she is a spoiled rich emo girl. She has everything, but she's an idiot. She's slowly killing herself and if we don't watch it she will kill herself, and we're all going down with her. Our healthcare system is fucked. Our rich people continue to get richer off the pain of the low and middle classes. Where is the soul of America? I know I'm still young and may not fully comprehend how these things work or some of my ideas are still immature and foolish. But, this is my way of speaking out. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong, so I may grow and maybe have some chance of saving this hellhole or make a difference in the future, because the future of this country is at risk and the ones that are going to feel it are todays kids, the children are our doomed future. However, is it too late?
